Perangkat besutan Huawei ini memiliki nama lengkap Huawei P40 lite dan diperkenalkan pertama kali pada 2020, February 27. Huawei P40 lite mengusung chipset HiSilicon Kirin 810 dan berjalan di atas sistem operasi Android 10.0; EMUI 10.
Pada bagian multimedia, Huawei menanamkan layar LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors berukuran 6.4″ inch dengan resolusi 1080×2310 pixels. Di sisi kamera, Huawei P40 lite mengandalkan kamera 48 MP yang bisa digunakan untuk merekam video dengan resolusi maksimal 2160p.

Sementara dari sisi desain, ukurannya memang tidak ringkas-ringkas banget yaitu 159.2 x 76.3 x 8.7 mm (6.27 x 3.00 x 0.34 in), tapi cukuplah untuk memberikan kenyamanan saat digenggam dengan dua tangan ataupun satu tangan. Meski secara desain, mungkin bukan favorit semua orang.
